Magic
Tech; The Money Detector is simply an ultra-violet light
source. Most of the mission sensitive monetary documents
are printed with special fluorescent ink which is invisible
in ordinary light but glows or become opaque under ultra-violet
light. In some cases the UV Ink changes color under UV
or Black Light. Another important use of Black Light is
to differentiate between ordinary wood pulp paper or synthetic
paper and cotton based security paper. Ordinary paper
reflects black light and become bright, while cotton based
paper absorbs black light. Most of the monetary documents
are made with cotton based paper and hence can be easily
identified in Black Light. Images of some of the documents
scanned by Magic Tech are follows: |

Pakistan's
Currency: |
|
The
main security feature in Rs.1000/- currency note is the
picture of Quaid-e-Azam (Founder of Pakistan) which is
only seen under black light, as shown in the image below: |
|
|
|
This
picture is not found in counterfeit or fake currency,
as illustrated below, this particular fake note is made
on Cotton Based paper which was perhaps stolen from some
Government Institution and the only major difference was
the UV picture of Quaid-e-Azam: |
|
|
|
For
further security three UV Marks which glows with bright
orange light in Black Light on the front of the note.
In the illustration below the upper note is the fake one,
while the lower one is original, on which three orange
colored shapes on each sides and in the middle are apparent: |
|
|
|
In
other currency notes there is no UV Mark or UV Ink, but
the paper either cotton or synthetic can be easily identified
in UV Light as illustrated in Rs.10/- Currency Note below: |
|
|
|
|
|
Here
in each of the picture above the upper one is fake, while
the lower one is original, and it is very clearly seen
that the fake note is reflecting some of the UV Light,
while the original one is absorbing it. |

and is printed in USD100.00, USD500.00 and USD1000.00.

Other

like in FEBC, DBC, FCBC, Prize Bond, etc. An image of
Rs.500/- FEBC is shown below as an example: |

|
|
International
Visas: |
|
The
UV Mark is an important feature in modern Visa's and other
passport related documents. In Pakistan, PIA has made
it compulsory for all IATA agents (Travel Agencies) to
have UV Money detectors at their counters in all airports. |
|
In

under Black Light. |
|

appears in the background of the visa stamp. |
|
|
